Celebrate BC Day in Kelowna! Glorious sunshine will provide the perfect setting for you to enjoy your August Long Weekend.
My top three things to do this weekend:
Start your weekend with a refreshing outdoor yoga session at Kelowna Mountain Park (5755 Gillard Forestry Road). Class starts at 9:30am and runs for an hour. Don’t forget your mat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Class is by donation – cash only.
- Take in the views.
Knox Mountain Park is only minutes from downtown, but also the city’s largest natural area park. The summit of Knox is about 300 metres above the lake, making this the perfect place to enjoy the scenic views of the city and the valley. If you need a cool down after your hike, one of my favourite swimming spots is near Paul’s Tomb near the north end of the park. Your four-legged friend is welcome on the trails on leash. An off-leash dog park is nearby, located south of Knox Mountain Drive.
- Groove to live music.
Bring your blankets and your chairs to Jack Seaton Park (1950 Camp Road) in Lake Country for a free outdoor concert featuring fantastic local artists this Saturday, August 1st. Gypsy and the Rose will be taking the stage at 6:30pm. At 7:30pm, Steve Stairs will be entertaining country and blues fans.
Have a safe and wonderful weekend.
