Snow Biking and Other Winter Fun!
I’ll bet you’ve never heard of snow biking. In fact, it’s a pretty new invention (homegrown in BC), and a local guiding company in Kelowna, Monashee Adventure Tours, is the only one in North America to offer snow biking as an activity. It’s quite a rush!
One Fish, Two Fish – Fun at Mission Creek
We have exciting news for this year’s Kokanee salmon run up Mission Creek: the numbers of Kokanee spawning this year are pointing to a banner season, echoing the record year that the Coast saw for their salmon run. The numbers are intriguing to Fish Interpreters at the EECO Centre (Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan).
Hiking Gems
Our hiking trails are a delight at this time of the year, when mornings are a little cooler, and gentle breezes temper the heat of midday. The bunchgrasses on hillsides and along the trail shine golden in the sun and the towering Ponderosa Pines cast their generous shadows. The air smells of sage and pine.
