The Kelowna Actors Studio has done it again! The production Sweet Charity is on until April 17, and it is flat-out amazing! This is a production you won’t want to miss. Here were the highlights (according to yours truly)…

Sweet Charity plays in Kelowna until April 17.
Tracy Ross shines as Charity Valentine, her talent is truly overwhelming from her phenomenal dancing, voice, and stage presence. Randy Leslie plays Oscar her boyfriend, and he really lights up a stage. Their scene in the elevator was one of the highlights for me: hilarious, perfectly timed, and a catchy score – it all came together.

Charity and Oscar, played by Tracy Ross and Randy Leslie, are sheer magic!
I also loved the group numbers: the Fandango Girls’ Hey Big Spender number, the hippie cult scene with its powerful musical themes and great choreography to name a few. Lots of highlights in this one! I also loved the voices and characters of Charity’s 2 girlfriends at the Fandango Club – there was a brilliant number in which they sing together and their voices are just gold together.

Beautifully choreographed, Bob Fosse's moves are alive and well in the Kelowna Actor's Studio production of Sweet Charity.
The show was directed by Nate Flavel, and he did a superb job of bringing out the classic Bob Fosse choreography and some really great staging. If I had a bowler hat, it would be off to them for this show.
The fun thing about going to Kelowna Actors Studio shows is that its a dinner theatre, which means you get a feast to start (buffet style), then the show, dessert at intermission, and… and! it’s licensed. Yes, you can have your glass of wine while you enjoy the show. It is truly the perfect night out. Click here for directions to the theatre.
So I want to echo Gord Vizzutti who said SEE THIS SHOW! You will quite simply be floored by the talent and energy. The show runs Thursday through Sunday (with a Saturday matinee) and will be on until April 17. Click here for the ticket prices and details.
