77 Mile Dinner in the Dark

Kelowna’s Delta Grand Resort has an amazing dinner planned in honour of Earth Hour on Saturday! The evening will feature a reception with Summerhill Pyramid Winery’s organic wine, followed by a candlelit dinner (in the dark) in the Grand Bay Café with a menu designed by Restaurant Chef Edison Antejos. The creative menu features ingredients from local farms, all itemized on the menu itself. Read on for the mouth-watering details!

The dinner menu is a four course affair with nods to the farms that Chef Edison sourced ingredients from. Take Organic Artisan Spring Lettuce with Candied Hazelnuts from West Kelowna’s Gellatly Nut Farm, black pepper goat cheese from Carmelis Goat Cheese in Kelowna, and roasted beet vinegrette. Or the main course of Chicken Two Ways, with organic honey and balsamic glaze (honey from Arlo’s Honey Farm in Kelowna) and served with braised swiss chard, roasted baby farm carrots, parsnip purée, fingerling potato chips and smoked onion jus.

This incredible 4 course menu (dessert is Granny Smith Baked Apple from Rutland’s Function Junction, with brown sugar & honey on vanilla scented  panna cotta) and reception is all just $45 per person, which is a real steal!

I also understand that the hotel will be doing their utmost to turn off any unnecessary lighting for earth hour as our contribution.

Well done, Delta Grand! I like seeing businesses do their best to support community causes like Earth Hour, and hope it will be an inspiration to others to follow suit.
