Wine Festival is still underway, and we talked about some of the early wine festival events last week on the show with Mark Morris. On today’s show, Mark and I talked about how to squeeze that last drop out of wine festival and enjoy it to the very end!

Enjoying Wine Festival to the very last drop!
So you’ve done the consumer tasting events, and you’ve stomped grapes to your heart’s content, and maybe you already took in a workshop or two on pairing wine with cheese, or wine with chocolate. Now that you’ve really fine-tuned your palate, you are ready to take on a winemakers’ dinner, winery evening event, or maybe a more casual brunch.
A number of wineries have special dinners and winemakers dinners planned; take for instance the dinner happening at Mission Hill tomorrow night. Coinciding with this dinner, they have some other news: their signature red Bordeaux blend called “Oculus” is turning 10 years old, so they have some special events around that, including the owner and winemaker of Mission Hill signing bottles of Oculus at the winery tomorrow afternoon between 1 and 4 pm.

And if you really want to sneak in that last hurrah for wine festival, check out a brunch on Sunday morning. Both Summerhill Pyramid Winery and Manteo Resort offer brunches that day, and both are amazing. Last year I attended Summerhill’s brunch, and you can’t believe the spread of food they had! Phenomenal!
