GoGirlfriend Offers An Interesting Site
I recently came across this story by Kelowna-native Cathryn Wellner on the website GoGirlfriend, and it’s a perfect example of how we as residents of this great city can act as ambassadors for visitors. Cathryn’s story is written from the perspective of Kelowna as an ideal girlfriend-getaway destination, which is absolutely so true!! How many [...]
One Fish, Two Fish – Fun at Mission Creek
We have exciting news for this year’s Kokanee salmon run up Mission Creek: the numbers of Kokanee spawning this year are pointing to a banner season, echoing the record year that the Coast saw for their salmon run. The numbers are intriguing to Fish Interpreters at the EECO Centre (Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan).

This weekend Kelowna will host the Kelowna International Dragon Boat Festival. For the 50+ teams attending and the 4500+ [...]
SPIN Farming a Whirl of Activity in Kelowna
I have been hearing reports about the interesting new direction in farming that is called “SPIN Farming” (stands for Small Plot INtensive farming). From what I hear, Kelowna is a stronghold for this new form of farming, which is very cool! This great blog post by Jennifer Cockrall-King was a thorough description of this kind of [...]
Gallery Grande Offers Glorious Art and Coffee
In this week’s eVent magazine, writer Portia Priegert recognizes the Lake Country Art Walk as the valley’s “largest visual arts exhibition.” It is, indeed, quite a colourful and vibrant annual event - and it takes place this weekend.
Extending Summer on our Patios
Can you believe it’s already Labour Day weekend?! Yes indeed. I’ve noticed that fall is sneaking in, ever so slowly. This got us at Tourism Kelowna thinking about how we could stretch out the remaining days of summer, and the consensus was: a summery drink on a patio. So without further ado, here are some [...]
