Today was my last day at the BC International Media Centre for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. It has been an incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience. The athletes who have come through, the high level of media, the upbeat atmostphere of Robson Square - all of these elements have added to the unforgettable stint that I had.

Today definitely ended on a high note. The Stanley Cup was at the BC Media Centre today, and we all had our pictures taken with it. Patrick Chan was in for a press conference as was his entire family. The mood was energetic and sparkling once again, and it was a great way to end my stint.
The next 8 days will bring still more press conferences and events, while I’m back in Kelowna working on the media visits of Olympic correspondents who are looking to experience other parts of BC and cities that our athletes live and train in. These events are in good hands with the capable and dedicated PR machine that is the media relations team and partner liaison team at the BC Media Centre. Thank you to Devon, Asta, Susan (all pictured below with author) and the other members of the team at the media centre. It’s been a real priviledge to be a part of the BCMC action.
