First Gold!!
My goodness! What an exciting day today at the BC International Media Centre. We had 4 press conferences back-to-back today, including one with Alex Bilodeau, Canada’s first Gold Medallist.

He had over 800 requests for interviews one-on-one, as the representative from the Canadian Olympic Committee told the audience in the Press Theatre today. He must have been in a whirlwind all day. It was a fantastic chance to hear him talk about his experience and thoughts firs-hand, and I’m always struck by how well-spoken and polished our athletes are. There must have been 400 journalists in the Press Theatre – maybe more. It was a hopping place! Have a look at the pictures below, which show how packed the room was.

Tomorrow will be exciting, too, as Tourism Kelowna is hosting an Icewine and Wine Discovery Event (tasting) at the BC Media Centre. We will turn the hospitality triangle there into a scene out of wine country, so can’t wait! Check in again soon – more updates will be posted regularly.
