A Traveler’s Impression of Kelowna
I love seeing people discover Kelowna for the first time. I love the way the landscape speaks to them, the way they get fired up when they meet great people here, the way they can’t get over how many different activities they can do here. That’s why travel stories about Kelowna are so appealing – because we get a glimpse into someone’s first impression. We get to shed our familiarity for a moment and see our city with fresh eyes.

A beautiful winter scene, seen through the eyes of one of you in our Flip for the Juice contest last summer.
Here are 2 travel stories from very different outlets. They are 2 experiences that show different aspects of Kelowna. The first is primarily about Icewine but also about winter activities that one can do while discovering Icewine in Kelowna. It ran in the Washington Post on January 3 and highlights all sorts of attractions in Kelowna.
The other story is on a blog called YouMustBeTrippin.com, and focusses on a father-son road trip, winter activities, winery touring, and staying at the Best Western Inn for it’s small ecological footprint.
Both are great articles that show the writers’ intrigue with Kelowna. It’s a fresh perspective on our city for a fresh new year. Happy new year!
