Elegant long boats, determined teams of paddlers, energetic drummers, and on-shore entertainment… the Dragon Boat Festival weekend is here, and everyone is invited!

Races of the Kelowna Dragon Boat Festival
Scheduled for September 19, and 20, this year’s Dragon Boat Festival has attracted over 160 boat teams, amounting to over 4500 competitors. Coming from all over the world, these competitors bring their families and friends, and spectator crowds are in the thousands. They are all here to cheer on the athletes and the commitment the teams have made all year.

Dragon Boating is a popular recreational and competitive sport in Kelowna. The men and women who sign up for teams train weekly and form tight-knit units.
The Festival kicks off on Saturday morning. The venue is open to the public – anyone can come and be a spectator for free. The weekend will be packed with races, on-shore entertainment, vendors, a beverage tent, and good food.
The event will encompass all of Waterfront Park, downtown in Kelowna. Everyone is welcome to come and cheer on the racers, so make if part of your weekend!
