Olympic Poster Sports Kelowna Connection

Interesting story in the Kelowna Capital News recently about the Kelowna roots of the official poster for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralymic Games. The artist/designer of the poster is a Kelowna-native.

Is it just me, or do you agree that the rolling mountains that make an appearance in the poster, along with the deep blue and vibrant greens that interplay, are a direct nod to the the agricultural and lake-based landscape that he grew up in? And if you look closely enough, is that serpentine figure with the distinctly rectangular head a depiction of Ogopogo? Click here to read the whole article about the Kelowna origins of what will be an internationally-recognizable symbol of the Olympics.
