Echinacea Field Day July 12
Here’s something that will appeal to families and green-thumbs: Falcon Ridge Farms in Kelowna is inviting you to come and enjoy their blooming Echinacea fields and many farm gate products on Sunday July 12 in the afternoon between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The event is free, but you’ll probably want to bring some cash in case you see an Echinacea product that you can’t live without. The setting is gorgeous at any time of the year, let alone when the Echinacea fields around the stately home turn that vibrant purple hue!

You can check out their chickens, peacocks, turkeys, miniature goats, ducks, even an alpaca and the friendliest llama you’ll ever meet, Jack! They also have farm fresh produce (organic eggs, Echinacea honey, teas, and marmalades). Address is 579 Rifle Road. Kids would just have a ball, and I think it’ll be very inspiring to those of us interested in urban homesteading. (And don’t forget your camera so that you can send in some pictures or video of your time at Falcon Ridge for your chance to win a Flip Video Camcorder!)
